The White Lotus is an HBO drama satirizing the lives of upper class vacationers as they lounge around the titular Hawaiian resort. The plot thickens as vacationers’ darkest secrets are revealed and forbidden relationships form between guests and employees, unveiling the dark underbelly of the resort's inner workings. Taking inspiration from its tropical setting, The White Lotus features an elegant wardrobe full of colorful caftans and poolside cover ups, linen shorts and printed button downs, and bikinis and leis galore. The indulgent fashions and personalities of the show’s characters contrast sharply with its gritty subject matter involving drug abuse, infidelity, and murder. The White Lotus takes its paradisaical resort setting and turns it into a fascinating prestige drama that is just as suspenseful as it is beautiful to watch.
